Ebeki Eze couldn’t get a chance in the UK with a 2-0 victory over Andorra in the UK – and Roy Keene sent him a message about his expectations after he joined Arsenal

Roy Keane warned Eberechi Eze that “okay” performances no longer accept that he is playing at the highest level. He believes Eze will need to go up the game after joining Arsenal on a £67.5m transfer and departing for the UK on Saturday.

The playmaker won the dream move of a boyhood club Arsenal last month thanks to an impressive performance from Crystal Palace. He was the most expensive signature of an ambitious summer transfer window at Arsenal, and he spent a total of £260 million on new players.

Mikel Arteta’s side had high expectations on his shoulders, and Eze was exposed to a similar situation in England on Saturday. The Three Lions took a 2-0 victory over Andorra at Villa Park with a bad opinion performance that saw Eze missed the mark.

The 27-year-old burned another good chance at the crossbar after seeing two attempts saved by Andorra’s goalkeeper. Given the No. 10 shirt and a free role against a limited enemy, he may have been disappointed that he couldn’t find the backstage of the net.

“In some instances, he still stayed and got on the ball, so he had the opportunity to do it in the first half and took a shot,” Ian Wright said on ITV. “He’s going to be disappointed that he didn’t do it well, but as long as he’s in the area, I’m really happy.”

However, Keene is usually no longer tolerant. He replied: “It’s a concern for me when we talk about players like this. I think he’s fine. But the manager would say, “It’s fine. We need to set a higher standard than that.” ”

Thomas Touchel appeared to agree with the former Manchester United captain when he evaluated his performance. “We missed out on a small moment to accelerate the game,” the English boss said.

“Maybe EBS didn’t have his best day in the NO10 position. He trained very well in decision making, but it was a bit of a struggle. The final pass from Noni (Maduce) wasn’t clinical enough.

England scored in the 25th minute when Madueke’s cross saw their net by Christian Garcia. But they took as they doubled the lead until midway through the second half and Declan Rice headed towards Reese James’ deep cross.

Debuting Elliot Anderson drove his best second half chance when Harry Kane’s square pass goalkeeper was rejected when he was a little behind him. Tuchel is looking for a better performance when England plays Serbia in another World Cup qualifier in Belgrade on Tuesday.
