Mark Guech’s transfer deadline: The move to Liverpool collapsed at the last minute, and was asked whether Liverpool would look for a January slump in cut prices
It is claimed that Liverpool will wait until next summer before returning to Mark Guech. The Reds saw the deadline moves in the 11th hour due to the collapse of centre-backs.
Guehi ended his contract next summer and had a fee of around £3.5 million mentioned. It’s unlikely that Liverpool will be the only club in the only mix where England International can freely speak with potential suitors in the New Year.
According to the Times, Liverpool has no plans to pursue the move that was cut in January. Guehi has no plans to extend the palace contract, which expires next summer. And it seems that realistic Premier League champions are happy to be waiting for them.
Liverpool also has a contract for Conate expires next summer and links with Real Madrid, but they are still experiencing the defence of Duo Virgil Van Dik and Ibrahima Conate. Joe Gomez is still at Anfield, but Italian centre-back Giovanni Leoni completed the move from Parma in August.
Guehi is said to be angry at the way his deal collapsed. He even went to film a goodbye message for the supporters of the palace, but the London Club only pulled the plug in the sense from his manager, Oliver Glasner, that he hadn’t had enough time to land the right alternative.

“We held a meeting in March and talked about the situation, so we know what the situation is going on and there’s an agreement that if there’s a proper replacement we can sell the mark,” Glasner said at the end of August. The Palace has completed the Jadee Canbot deadline move, but the French starlet is only 19 years old and has under his belt a full season of senior football.
“We wanted to put this alternative in the beginning of the preseason to become independent of this situation,” Glasner continued. “It was July 9th (the season began) and August 31st, and it is clear that some of the contracts are not met because the building has no replacements.
Guehi, who has remained a regular starter at the palace this season, was also at England’s Start XI to face Andorra on Saturday. He played 76 minutes with Dan Byrne. The Three Lions won 2-0 and maintained a 100% record in Qualfiying at the World Cup.
The UK will travel to Serbia on Tuesday. They are looking to take them one step closer to next summer’s tournament in Mexico, Canada. After that game, Guehi will return to London on Saturday for a Palace League match against Sunderland.
