Leeds United are reportedly keen to secure the services of Alex Oclade Chamberlain. The 32-year-old saw his contract with Turkish attire Besiktas ended in August. He initially had a contract to remain with the club until 2026, but the Turkish side paid around £1.5 million to close his deal prematurely.
As an unqualified player, Oxlade-Chamberlain can recruit outside the transfer window, which concluded earlier this week.
The Premier League champion with Liverpool is understood to be keen to return to British football, and while Leeds has expressed interest within the club, the whites face rivalry from Championship outfit Birmingham City.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain is also available. Many clubs have seen him,” transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.
“He has an incredible resume and plays for Arsenal and Liverpool, and he has been in the Champions League and a Premier League winner since his days at Liverpool.
“Now that he has left Besiktas, the club is on guard for his availability. There is interest from clubs across the Premier League, Championships and Europe, with Leeds and Birmingham among them.
“So I’m sure he’s ready to return to England in a few years and I think there’s a move in his future soon.”
In the advantageous position, Daniel Fark’s team was not responsible for gambling transfer fees. Former Liverpool Star is available for free transfers. The main concern is his salary.
It is reported that Oxlade-Chamberlain pocketed £65,000 each week in Türkiye.
