Benjamin Sesco is Manchester United’s most expensive summer signature, and the young striker is under pressure to produce despite the highlighted warning signs
Benjamin Sesco was turned over at Manchester United to fight against Luis Saha calling out his former club for not acquiring a creative midfielder through the door. Reuben Amorim spent more than £200 million strengthening his front line with Sesco, Brian Mbeumo and Mass Kuña.
Sesko himself costs £74 million, arrives with a huge reputation and is tasked with leading the line at Old Thel TheL Thelford. The young Slovenian has been named the bench in three Premier League matches so far, and has failed to score in any of his cameos.
Unite under Amorim play without a playmaker and support No. 9 to get two central midfielders and two forwards instead. Saha argues that it is important that Mbeumo and Cunha hit the ground with Sesko needing its supply.
“I think he’s capable if the manager can get the link between midfield and the striker,” Saha said. “Unfortunately, we didn’t get the midfielder we wanted, so we’re still very weak in that department, and that’s why I think Sesco will have a bit of a struggle until we sort it out.
“He’s tall so he has quality. He scores goals in the air and he’s very technical too. All his moves are there so I’m sure he’ll score with the goal, with the intention of getting a chance.

“But to take us where we want, I don’t think it’s on him. These two playmakers, (Matheus) Cunha and (Bryan) Mbeumo, will have to kick them soon.
United struggled to attack in the opening game. On the first two outings, they only scored in favor of their own goals before Mbeumo scored his first goal with his new colour and hit three Burnleys in the past.
Saha claims United continues to have a worrying trend of relying on young, inexperienced strikers to lead the line. The struggle experiences by Rasmus Hojlund are well documented. Dane was unable to deliver his price tag and was loaned out two years later.
The French now fear that the club simply repeated the trick by signing Sesco, who is only 22 years old, despite being turned over for the big one.
He spoke to the athletic and said, “The issues identified in the last three or four years (United) are responsible for being number 9 or forward when you’re young. You’re still learning. You’re making a mistake.
“Man United had a combination (A) because they have a lot of talented young players. They are confused and will actually bring about unpredictability, but at the same time, they have experience of actually passing information on it.
“This hasn’t been the case in the last three or four years. So it’s really a big mistake and I think they’ve done it again.”
