Nicholas Jackson opens at Chelsea exit with an honest message to Enzo Maresca | Football | Sports

Nicholas Jackson admitted that he wanted to leave Chelsea because he needed to “something different” at this stage of his career. After being considered surplus in the requirements by Enzo Maresca, the forward was loaned to Bayern Munich on the last day of the transfer window. The move was almost cancelled after Liam Dellup picked up a hamstring injury in a match with Fulham.

Chelsea recalls Mark Giu from his loan in Sunderland and passes the Jackson deal. They are said to receive a loan fee of around £13 million, but Bayern also has a £70 million option to make a permanent move next summer. Jackson clashed with a pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the summer arrival of Delap and Joan Pedro.

Clearing why he wants to leave the Blues, he told Tuttosport he hopes for another challenge under a new head coach.

“Soccer is full of cycles,” Jackson said. “Don’t let things go sometimes. It’s part of the game. I respect my coach Maresca.

“I learned a lot from him. He has his own ideas and style. I needed something different at this stage of my career. I have no regrets. I’m grateful for my time at Chelsea.”

Jackson added that he had mixed feelings after flying to Germany and completing his move to Bayern.

“It’s a very strong feeling, but not for reasons you might think,” he explained. “It was great to sign up for one of the world’s biggest clubs and discover another league and other great players.

“At the same time, I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates and fans, and I experienced so many strong emotions there.

“We won the Conference League and the Club World Cup. Now I’m 100% focused on new projects and can’t wait to experience the incredible atmosphere at Allianz Arena.”

Before the striker’s move to Bayern was confirmed, Maresca suggested that leaving Chelsea would make him happy.

The quiz, including Jackson’s future and Christopher Nekunk and Benchlwell, who secured a move away from Stamford Bridge, stated:

“If they’re not here, that means they’ve found a solution. Finally, I think it’s always good if they can find a solution because I think they’ll be happier and the club will be the same.”
