Luis Suarez was handed a six-match ban after vomiting to opposition staff. InterMiam Striker targeted the director of Seattle Sounders’ Security Gene Ramirez at the FRACA after the team’s final league cup loss.
Suarez initially grabbed Mexican midfielder Obedo Vargas in the throat, causing the incident when teammate Sergio Basquets attacked the Sounders player with Joe.
Busquets and fellow Miami Squad member Tomas Aviles have been suspended for two and three games, respectively.
Seattle manager Stephen Renhardt also copied the five-game ban after the tournament panel handed its verdict.
Suarez and other criminals could face additional punishment by reserving current sanctions limited to the League Cup – Major League football to impose additional penalties.
Leagues Cup, an annual contest featuring MLS and Mexican Liga MX aspects, has issued a statement through the committee.
“According to League Cup regulations, all four individuals approved will receive a fine as a result of their actions,” he declared.
“All suspensions must be available in the next edition or League Cup edition until fully complete.”
Suarez has already announced an apology for his role in the argument. “First of all, I want to congratulate the Seattle Sounders on their League Cup victory,” Suarez wrote on Instagram.
“But more importantly, I want to apologise for my actions at the end of the game. It was a moment filled with tension and frustration that should have happened at the end of the game, but it doesn’t justify my reaction. I made a mistake.
“That’s not the image I want to portray in front of my family suffering from my errors, and (Intermiami) doesn’t deserve to be affected by this either.
“We still know that a lot of seasons will play. We’re going to work together to achieve the goals this club and its fans deserve.”
Intermiami has also issued its own statement regarding the incident. “Intermiami condemns the altercation that took place after the League Cup finals,” the club said.
“These actions do not reflect the values of our sport. We are continuing to commit to maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship on and off the pitch. We work closely with League Cup and MLS officials to ensure that the situation is handled properly. We appreciate the continued support of our fans and our community.”
