Despite Manchester United blew over £200 million in a summer acquisition, Bournemouth sense Antoine Semeño has proven to be the finger-sliding player. United boss Ruben Amorim reportedly reportedly had consultations with Ghana International, but Semenyo eventually wrote new terms at Vitality Stadium.

“I’ve grown so much on and off the pitch with the club. I’m really happy I signed it before returning to the preseason,” Semeño told club media after signing an extension until 2030. ”

Both Newcastle and Tottenham reportedly were tracking the 25-year-old, but their pursuit declined after he committed future elsewhere. However, according to the Transfers Podcast, United had maintained interest since the spring and had decided to sign him.

Reuben Amorim is said to have arranged a dinner with Semenyo in London at the end of last season to assess the player’s mentality.

Chief Executive Officer Omar Bellada and Recruitment Director Jason Wilcox also discussed former Bristol city talent with Bournemouth, but their efforts were unearthly. United reportedly were prepared to invest £55 million in Semeño, recognizing his established Premier League qualifications.

Nevertheless, the players themselves are believed to have pledged their loyalty to Bournemouth after discovering that United intended to provide lower wages than those proposed to alternative targets. It is also allegedly been that Liverpool had set their sights on Brian Mbeumo and Matthew Cunha.

Cameroon International Mbemo has already marked with his new club and scored goals in a 3-2 league victory over Burnley, but Cunha was injured during the same match.

Semenyo continues to be impressed at Bournemouth after scoring a career-high 11 league goals last season and 13 in all competitions. He scored both goals for Cherry in the opening weekend clash with Liverpool, and also supported Marcus Tavernier’s victory goal in a victory over the Wolves.

He found the backstage of the net in both home and away matches with United last season as Bournemouth scored the victory at Old Trafford and recognized the last minute equalizer on the return fixture. The two teams will not face each other until December this season.

Given the series of famous departures over the summer, Bournemouth’s success in keeping Cemenyo was important. Three members of the defensive line completed a profitable move last season, with Milos Kerquez heading for Liverpool, Ilya Zabarni moved to Paris Saint-Germain, and Dean Huizen’s dream of Real Madrid realised.

Cherry also pocketed around £42 million from Dango Outala’s sale to Brentford, with Philip Billing and Mark Travers departing among surrounding players. Andoni Iraora’s team also splashed out in the summer, with defender Baford Diakite becoming the second most expensive acquisition in their history, bringing Jorge Petrovic and Ben Ganon Doak from other Premier League clubs.
