The non-league football club will sign a 54-year-old fan staying with Wanderers to replace the injured goalkeeper. And the men will be named in the starting lineup when the team hosts AFC Totton on Saturday.

Dorking is currently robbing trade in the National League South at two levels in League 2. They are 11th in the table after winning three wins from the first seven matches of the campaign. However, their regular goalkeeper Harrison Fawkes is no longer available this weekend after he suffered a “spleen injury.” And supporter Terry Dunn agreed to intervene after first wearing gloves in 1997 following a spell with the local side.

Dan joined Dorking on a “temporary bass” and fans were told to expect a new loan goalkeeper to arrive early next week.

And Dorking said in a statement on their website: “First team goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes suffers a spleen injury and will take action for up to four weeks, and the club is unable to secure exchanges for Saturday’s match against AFC Totton.

Meanwhile, Dan commented: “Playing at the finish line is like riding a bike. You’ll never forget that. I still play walking soccer regularly.

“As a Wanderers fan, no one will try harder than me to hold a clean sheet on Saturday.”

And Mark White, Dorking Chairman and First Team Manager, added: “In an age where there is less passion, he will make up for Terry’s lack of mobility.

White was asked about the club’s light letter in an interview after his defeat to Horn Church on Tuesday.

And he said: “We have a lot to do. We don’t know the best team. We don’t have boys at the level of fitness we want. We don’t have any changes to all areas, we don’t have 8S, we don’t have a winger, we don’t have a left centre back.

“There’s a lot to do and we do the work. We work hard on a large scale.”

He added:
