Premier League records £3 billion transfers as three clubs send clear messages

Premier League clubs have shattered previous records that Liverpool spent on transfer windows by crushing their record deal twice, but the most eye-catching moves were undoubtedly elsewhere

The Premier League is the best in the world and I always believe England has a chance. Arsene Wenger: Author of Wenger, The Inside Story of Arsenal.

The newly promoted Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland sent out their intent messages in the Premier League’s record transfer window.

All three clubs spent over £90 million, with Sunderland jumping out an astounding £167 million with 15 new signatures, 17 exits and six new contracts. Former Arsenal captain Granite Zaka may have been the most eye-catching deal for the Black Cat – and what did it start to give them.

Sunderland has already enjoyed two wins in the opening of three games, and the mood at the stadium is bounced back. Leeds and Burnley spent the big this summer in the incredible Premier League supermarket sweep.

That’s a record number, but it’s particularly eye-catching as the newly promoted team is trying to resist a worrying trend. In each of the last two seasons, three newly promoted aspects have returned straight.

You can’t have a league that doesn’t effectively demote to stay competitive and stay exciting – just three, and only three. It was all predictable and reduced the quality of the competition overall.

Incredibly, there was a 23-point bay between Leicester – third from the bottom – and Tottenham on the 17th, suggesting that the Premier League was uncompetitive.

This time, the Premier League has already seen changes. Leeds and Sunderland won their first round of match. Burnley won the second game.

The first three newly promoted clubs since 2016/17 all won the game in their first two match rounds.

Liverpool broke their record twice in the Florian Wurtz deal, then broke the record with an all-eyed £130 million contract. The best thing is getting better, but the new boy is determined to stay in the window showing how much money he has in football.

Other important issues are:

Overall spending was a new record in the top four at 3 billion pounds than last season, a record sales record of 1.8 billion pounds. Transfer to Prem Club on 22 loans The average age of new signatures was under 23, but this reflects the movement towards young people

Nine Premier League clubs need to navigate UEFA’s stricter team cost ratio rules and profit and sustainability rules. Aston Villa is on UEFA’s hit list.

Newcastle spent more than £500 million in three years after a Saudi-led takeover. The Premier League will definitely be in the spotlight after record spending and questions are certainly asked.

But it was an amazing transfer window, a circus with so many sagas, massive deals and exciting arrivals.

Perhaps a tweet from the campaign group SaveGrassrootsfooty reminds some people.

But when they said everything and it was done, no doubt all fans of all Premier League clubs wanted the team to spend a little more before the windows closed. Because, as Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley have proven, staying on top flights is all about it.
