Newcastle United held their second goalless draw of the Premier League season at newly declared Leeds United on Saturday, and of course Eddie Howe was asked about Alexander Isaac after the match
If Eddie Howe knows where Alexander Isaac will take his deal after Monday’s transfer deadline, he won’t leave it to him. The Newcastle boss was asked about his missing star striker after a Toon goalless draw in Leeds on Saturday night.
And amid growing speculation that Premier League champion Liverpool ultimately rejected an offer of £110 million in their second bid, Toon Chief Howe made a quick update when asked, but gave nothing at all.
He said: “I don’t know, I’m not a party of ongoing lectures. I’m preparing for this game so I can imagine it’s well requested.

Isaac remains immovable with his desire to leave St. James Park for Anfield, citing the “broken promise” behind his desire to leave.
This week, co-owner Jamie Reuben and representatives of the Saudi Arabian Private Investment Fund, a majority shareholder in Newcastle, met with Isaac and his aides and tried to reintegrate him into folding to build the bridge. However, Isaac revealed that it is to leave Liverpool and participate.
Hau hopes that uncertainty about Isaac’s future is approaching a resolution, with Newcastle paying a club record of £65 million from Stuttgart on Saturday to sign striker Nick Ultemed. They are also about to land wolf striker Jorgen Strand Larsen before the 7pm deadline on Monday, but the Norwegians who missed Saturday’s defeat to Everton are nowhere to go.
Magpies are still chasing their first victory of the season. They also drew 0-0 at Aston Villa over the opening weekend, losing 3-2 to Liverpool on Monday.
However, Howe is pleased with the players’ collective determination, saying: “All three performances – the big thing that shines through it, through all the media speculations we made, through all the media speculations we made, and the strength of that I think the players really gave it all.
“We can play better, we can do better, we’ll have to do it. But hopefully the centre forward can do it. It was very easy for players to feel differently about the situation, so we passed it on really well.

ISAK has been reported by Swedish media that he bid farewell to his teammates on the club’s training ground. However, Howe added:
“That was the first time I heard it. I’ve probably heard it.”
