He bought minority shares at the club before being appointed to the Tottenham board of directors in December 2000, and eventually replaced Lord Alan Sugar as chairman in February 2001, increasing his shares.
“I am incredibly proud of the work I did with the executive team and all my employees. We built this club into a global heavyweight competition that competes at the highest level. And even more, we built a community,” Levy said.
“From the team at the Lily White House to all the players and managers over the years, I was able to work with some of the greatest people in the sport.

Peter Charrington, who joined Spurs in the summer along with new CEO Vinai Venkatesham, has been appointed as the club’s non-executive chair.
Tottenham announced that the club’s ownership and shareholder structure remain the same, but Charlington called it “a new era of leadership.”
“We are extremely honored to be the non-executive president of this extraordinary club. On behalf of the board, we would like to thank Daniel and his family for their commitment and loyalty to the club over the years,” Charlington said.
“This is a new era of leadership for the club, both on and off the pitch, and I recognize that there have been a lot of changes over the last few months as we laid new foundations for our future.
“We are now giving stability and empowering talent across the club led by Vinai and his executive team.”
The Tottenham men’s team welcomed a new head coach in the form of Thomas Frank after Ange Postecoglou left in June.
Meanwhile, Martin Ho was appointed as the new women’s head coach in July, following Robert Villaham, who joined the Spurs a month after Postcoglu arrived in north London.
Frank’s first encounter after Levy’s exit comes in the form of the London Derby and travels to face West Ham United on Saturday, September 13th when the Premier League resumes after an international break.
