The club continues to be in chaos, and even more at ease, former United centre back Jones, who has recorded over 200 appearances for the Red Devils, suspects that, like most clubs, several members of Amorim’s team have negative feelings towards the boss.
“Do you think United had a player who didn’t like him? To be honest, that’s probably a ridiculous question, because they say there are people who don’t like managers.”
“But maybe there are players in Man City who feel the same way about (PEP) Guardiola. They can’t stand him. Every team has such people. These are big groups of players and different personalities, I think they should be competitive and they should play more than they do.
“That never changes. Even when the manager was flying, believing in me, ‘Well, he’s not playing me, so he’s not good’, I was there myself.
“I understand what’s going on, I pull myself out of the *** and go back to where I need to come back. Nine out of 10, that’s a problem. It comes with experience.
“You know, the problem wasn’t the manager. It was me. When I think about some players now, I find it very easy to pass the responsibility to the manager.
