Jamie Carrager wasted no time rubbing salt on Gary Neville’s wounds following the exit of Manchester United’s Carabao Cup – a recent clip reposted by Sky Sports critics who said his previous side was “stomped by a few people.”
He said that he was actively following the first weekend of the Premier League, but more than a week later the Red Devils were thrown out of the Carabao Cup at Grimsby’s hands. The League 2 outfit advanced to the third round with a penalty that led 2-0 at halftime. United rescued them from embarrassment in normal times, but they were unable to hold their nerves from 12 yards as the Mariners enjoyed a famous victory with those they had to deal with at very low moments.
Neville made conventional predictions for the season, putting the Red Devils in the top four despite finishing 15th last season. He argued that their performance in their defeat to Arsenal gave him hope that they were in fact heading in the right direction.
Since then they have been held at Fulham, losing to a League 2 team in the second round of the Carabao Cup, with Karager leading the fun with his Sky Sports colleagues.

He reposted a social media clip. I think Neville would get a goalkeeper when he saw United yesterday and thought the performance was very good. I think they got the Europa League when they took the goalkeeper and they had that backline front.
Whenever asked on Sky Sports, Neville referenced how he was included in his top four predictions. Despite his last poor year, he has them on top of Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa and more.
However, United have not replicated the levels they showed during their weekend defeat at Old Trafford. Reuben Amorim admitted that the positive signs he saw during his defeat to Arsenal were not left to dissect the highly harmful night.
