The season is just beginning, but the first international break for the new campaign is almost on us. But before that happens, there’s still a full weekend of Premier League fixtures to sink teeth. Future games will give FPL managers a chance to bank some early points and get off to a solid start.

Express Sport has hand in hand to take on a list of popular picks that may not be available to GameWeek3…

Call Palmer

Palmer will not be available for matches against Chelsea Fulham as he recovers from a gro caliber injury. He took up the issue before his victory over West Ham last weekend and is not ready to go back on the pitch yet.

Enzo Maresca revealed the news at a press conference on Friday.

“Cole, we need to see it every day,” the Chelsea boss said. “Romeo and Benoit, I don’t think they’ll come back after an international break, but they’ll be closer.”

Bukayosaka

Arsenal’s Starman is another player to be on the sidelines this weekend. He stepped into Leeds United on hamstring issues and is set to miss the next few weeks when he recovers.

Mikel Arteta confirmed Saka does not require surgery and said on Friday:

“It’s an action that requires full strength from him. Then he clashed with the other person. He had to change his pace again and he felt something. He’s going out for a few weeks.”

Rayan ait-nouri

Manchester City has better news with the AIT-Nouri set to choose from against Brighton. He was replaced during his defeat to Tottenham last weekend, but he recovers well and could be involved in Amex Stadium.

Pep Guardiola kept it short and sweet when he quized the defender’s condition, saying, “He’s fine.” When asked directly whether he fits well enough to face Brighton, the Spaniard replied “Yes.”

Savinho, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic remained injured ahead of Sunday’s match against the Seagulls.

Jeremy Frimon

The new Liverpool defender began a strong life at Merseyside, but the injury set-off keeps him out until after an international break. He has hamstring issues with Bournemouth and will need a little more time to recover.

Before Monday’s dramatic victory over Newcastle, manager Arne Slot said:

“I think I got a bit criticized for taking him off. It had nothing to do with how he played, but we felt he had issues with his hamstrings and we mean the medical staff. They were totally right.
