Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno provided an ominous response when asked about his future at the club after his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis fell apart

Nuno Espirito Santo has left his future in the grave in a doubtful future by admitting that “there is no smoke without fire.”

Last week, coach Nuno, who argued that his team needs to be strengthened at all but one position, said he has broken his relationship with Evangelos Marinakis with the owner and is no longer talking regularly.

The Portuguese signed a new three-year contract in June, when they first led the forests to Europe in 30 years. However, at a surprising press conference Friday afternoon, he said:

“This season isn’t very good, but my concerns are in front of us, but our relationship has changed, so I always believe that dialogue and your opinions and your opinions will always be valid, as my concern is team and season.”

Asked what changed the relationship, Nuno added:

“What I said last week or two ago was my concern and why was I worried. My job is to predict that it’s always coming before us, and that’s what I said, what I said with respect.

“But in reality, (relationship) is not what it was before, it was, it was once a good, disrespectful relationship, but it’s based on trust and sharing opinions, and now it’s not that good.”

He then said he was about to be rejected, in response to social media speculation, “There’s fire where there’s smoke, so I know how things work.

“But I’m here to work. I’m worried, so I understand. I’m the first person who’s worried. I’m worried first.

A week ago, the Reds boss said he wanted to strengthen his team in every position, except for the centre-back.

Since then, Omali Hutchinson has arrived from Ipswich, with Manchester City midfielder James McAtee and Rennes striker Arnaud Karimend.

However, his thorny comments last week appear to have contributed to his connection with Marinakis’ destruction.

“I’m worried,” Nuno said before beating Brentford over the weekend. “We lack options, and having the solutions we need for the gaming is a big concern.

“We need problems in the game, problems that arise, options and solutions. Things are moving. Let’s look at medical potential. We need players, but we certainly know the needs. The club knows.”
