According to Sky Germany, they have accelerated their interest over the past few hours, and they agreed to a deal to land Urtemaids. Earlier this summer, he had a heavy connection to his travels to Bayern Munich, but it was not possible.
Newcastle is reportedly planning to pay a £73 million transfer fee for an additional £4 million available with the potential add-on. Woltemade has already said goodbye at Stuttgart and is claimed to be on his way to the UK to complete the transaction process.
It comes after Newcastle sees two bids rejected for the wolf’s forward Jorgen Strand Larsen. He is believed to be keen on his move to St. James Park, but if Woltemade joins Magpies as expected, he will remain at Molineux.
The latter scored Stuttgart’s 12 league goals last season, making his German international debut at the end of the campaign. He is 23 years old and has plenty of room for growth, with an impressive frame at 6 feet and 5 inches tall.
It is still unclear whether Newcastle’s Ultemaid’s move will have a knock-on effect on Isaac’s future. Eddie Howe recently admitted that when the windows close, the 25-year-old “don’t know” if he was still at the club.
“I wasn’t a party to discuss this for a long time,” he said. “I have prepared my team and have given energy to players who want to play for Newcastle, and that’s where my energy is most useful.
“I don’t know where this is at this moment. The ideal from Newcastle’s point of view is to be clear. We want to move forward. We want to change the story.
“We’ve got to start this season and we have to try to focus on what we can get results and control. We gave two really good performances and got one point. That’s tough for us.
“Alex’s quality would have made a difference between the two games. I’m not going to deny that. That being said, the team works well and performance doesn’t happen if every part of the team doesn’t work well.”
