Manchester United head coach Reuben Amorim will be talking about crunch with the club’s top brass following his crucial match against Burnley on Saturday.
After a disastrous start to the season hit Rockbottom, Amorim is being provided with pressure in the embarrassing Carabao Cup defeat at club Grimsbytown of Raig 2.
United, who finished in the unfortunate 15th place in the Premier League last season, has been able to piece together just one point from their first two league matches this season, and is currently struggling in 16th place.
Failure to secure a victory over the newly promoted Burnley at Old Trafford further strengthens Amorim’s scrutiny after Grimsby’s loss, deliberately saying, “We have time to decide things.”
According to Miller, the 40-year-old spoke with club officials during an international break, and after Grimsby’s fiasco erupted, he poses new doubts about his future at United with his honest comments.
Despite being signed until June 2027, Amorim has been able to secure seven wins in 29 Premier League matches since taking over the Eric 10 Hugs last November.
It is hesitant to dismiss Amorim in office in less than a year, but there is a consensus between a unified hierarchy that immediate improvement in results must be promoted.
United CEO Omar Bellada helped appoint Amorim overlooking former sports director Dan Ashworth, who supported Thomas Frank, Gareth Southgate and Marco Silva.

Belada’s position is on the line as Amorim pins his hopes to turn things around with United.
However, with no European football this season and United already out of the League Cup, the FA Cup remains the only shot in silverware, putting pressure on Amorim to change the team’s trajectory.
United are fighting time in just four days from the transfer window as they are looking for a new goalkeeper to replace the error-prone pair Andre Onana and Altai Bayindeal. Their number one target is Royal Antwerp’s Senne Runmen, who has a price tag of £17 million.
Amorim is also keen to bring in a new midfielder before Monday’s transfer deadline, but his favorite choice, Brighton’s Carlos Valleva, may be too expensive at £100 million.

United also aims to offload Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia before the deadline, with all four currently being trained separately from their first team.
The permanent move to Real Betis for Antony is thought to be nearing completion, but Garnacho is refraining from moving to Chelsea.
United wanted the 21-year-old winger to win £50 million, but could accept Chelsea’s offer to put an end to the ongoing saga about the player’s future.
United Insider is said to have rejected the suggestion that Amorim was shown the door early in the season and was attributed to the heat of the moment after Grimsby’s defeat.
