Jack Grelish made the latest loan switch from Manchester City to Everton, while England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was giving a tough sell to make sure the playmakers were on board
Jordan Pickford admitted that he was straight on the phone for Jack Grelish and told him to “hurry” when he first heard that he could head to Everton.
The Manchester City playmaker completed a loan move to Toffee this season and made his debut from the bench in a loss at Leeds on Monday night. Pickford and Grealish have joined many English camps along with their partners.
Together they helped the three lions reach the major tournament finals, and Pickford was eager to be reunited in the club scene. The Grealish era in Manchester appears to be happening, with Everton moving to land him for the next 12 months.
Their goalkeeper did his bit to try and get a contract on the line when he spoke about the perks of being a Merseyside player. With a former Aston villa man on board, Pickford is talking about possible European accusations.
He said: “I’m a good friend with Jack. When the rumors about Everton began, we had some conversations. I said he loved it here, it was a proper home club and “Hurry!” When he told me it was almost all done, I was like “the box was being checked.”

“Jack has height. He’s always smiling and illuminating the place. You need to see him in training. He’s a top player. It’s a massive opportunity for Everton to sign someone like him. The young man who won the title has come.
Everton embarks on a new era at Hill Dickinson Stadium, which will face Brighton on Sunday afternoon, and Pickford uses last year’s Crystal Palace success as a real motivator. Their FA Cup proves that the big boys will never rule.
“Crystal Palace, which won the FA Cup last season, was a great example of what we could achieve,” he said. “This is a template for us to win silverware, too. Everyone knows Gaffer and his demands. I’ve had ambitions since coming to Everton to play in Europe.
Merseysiders hopes to further strengthen their ranks after agreeing to a £42 million contract with Southampton for Tyler diving. The young winger was impressed last year and was keen to stay on top flights.
Moe highlighted Everton’s ambitions by acknowledging that the landing goal was a problem, not a lack of funds. “It’s something we don’t have the money we spend, we have, but we find it very difficult to spend money at this point,” he said.
