Arne Slot’s Dutch compatriot Wim Kieft believes that expectations at Anfield would raise a few more notches if the Reds could take Alexander Isaac, £150 million valuation from Newcastle
Arne Slot has been warned of being under more pressure than ever at Liverpool after spending £300 million to improve the team that won the Premier League title last season.
And Wim Kieft, a former international striker of Slots, now a top Dutch expert and former international striker, believes expectations at Anfield will raise a few other notches.
Liverpool has already landed Florian Wiltz, Hugo Echicicke, Milos Kerkez and Jeremy Fripon in the biggest spending ever seen at the club. And Keefe said:
“I think it’s wrong to think of slot ideas and methods as head and shoulders as head and shoulders more than the vision of other managers. He’s been pumping fresh blood with the champion team with a big money signature.
“If he managed to keep Alexander Isaac away from Newcastle, he’d have a lot of additions. It must be great for the slots he’s allowed to spend, but bringing in all these big stars really means a lot of responsibility for him.

“It’s clear that this isn’t Jurgen Klopp’s team anymore. It’s really an Arne Slot team, allowing us to really judge the slot. If he gets Isaac, he really has some teams on paper.”
Liverpool will travel to face Newcastle on Monday night after the summer spent taking the Swedes to Anfield. Newcastle insisted that the striker would not be sold unless his ratings were fully met – and Isaac further angered Toon’s loyal people by refusing to play.
The champions need to deal with the red-hot St. James Park vibe, similar to Eddie Houside, where the manager cranks up before kickoff. Liverpool defeated Bournemouth last week to begin defending the title.
However, it’s a performance littered with defensive errors, and Kieft isn’t sure every new player the slot signed will succeed at Anfield.
He added: “We all came to know with Manchester United’s Eric Ten Hag how not all big status and famous players can adapt to British football.
“Of course, Florian Wiltz is a great player who will succeed. But Hugo Ekitique, who took from Frankfurt, can be a huge shock so that like Isaac, a player like him can be a huge shock when he learns the true ferociousness of the Premier League.”
