Wolf boss Viter Pereira says the club will sell Jorgen Strand Larsen to Newcastle if the Norwegian striker bids the right price. In a chase that appears to have a knock-on effect on his ambition to sign Liverpool’s Alexander Isaac, the Tyneside outfit declined a second bid of £55 million on Tuesday.
The offer came hours before the 25-year-old striker left the bench and spurred his side in a victory over West Ham. 2-1, Strandlersen was featured in the 17th minute and attacked twice to turn the game around. But for Pereira, the post-match story was dominated by the future of the former Celta Vigo man, but not a result.
The wolf manager said: “Until now, Jorgen has been our player and we see what happens. Football is football. Every player has a price. Even Messi and Cristiano believe it. But he is very important to us.
He also continued to commit to the club, saying, “I know him well. He will never force a move. There are no players I know in this situation and they ask me not to play. But Larsen wants to play every time.”
Strand Larsen was the first to take on loan last season, scoring 14 times. He only made his seals permanent this summer, but Pereira is now facing only two games losing in the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
The 25-year-old’s ambition to head to Anfield endured Newcastle’s failure to find a backup option. Things like Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike have slipped their hands, and Brentford continues to play hardball beyond Yoane Wissa’s contract.
