Gary Lineker sent a message of praise to the BBC after tuning into the first match programme that Mark Chapman has aired since his departure hosted on Saturday evening
Gary Reinker was filled with praise when asked about his return for the day’s match. The flagship show returned on Saturday for the first time since the Linecar exit.
Mark Chapman performed his hosting duties, but the rest was a familiar match in the day’s setup. The trio of Chapman, Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan was announced by the BBC in January as a Lineker replacement, with the longtime lead presenter cutting ties with the organization in light of ultimately triggering an anti-Semitic column.
Alex Kay-Jelski, who was hired as Beeb’s sports director last April, discussed changes to the show after Lineker’s departure. However, the 64-year-old praised the former boss for not fixing what was not broken, and was pleased that he had little changed in the new era.

The rest are cited football podcasts alongside former BBC colleagues Alan Shearer and Micah Richards. Lineker revealed how he felt he had brought the show he had hosted for 26 years back to our screens.
“Alan, you were playing last night’s game. I enjoyed it,” he admitted. “After I went out for dinner, I went home in time to see it.
“I thought it was really good. Chapper did a great job. There’s a lot of talk, they weren’t trying to change things, and you know what it’s like, you’re a new guy, you get a new sporting head, he wants to do this and do it.
“But ‘If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.’ I think it was a very wise decision, and I thought this program was great. ”
Host Chapman has been joined by a new addition with Panditsiara and a new addition to Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney at the first show of the new Premier League season on Saturday, with Rinker endorsing the latter.
“I thought Wayne Rooney had really worked out just as well as herself. “I was so glad to have a glass of wine and see it!”
Match of the Day, which took over from Des Lynam in 1999, has long been synonymous with Lineker, but the Ex-England striker claimed it wasn’t strange to see from his home.
“It wasn’t strange, really, no. I was pretty relaxed,” he continued. “I was like, ‘I wasn’t making a 3.5 hour trip at the end of the show.’
“I really enjoyed watching it, and it was the first time I’ve seen that day on a Saturday night.
“The only thing I missed the show was to take a strange Saturday off to take a break, so I’m going somewhere, so it took me so long after seeing it.”
