Manchester United ended his United career with an astonishing absence from Alejandro Garnacho after a 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Wantaway Manchester United Misfit Alejandro Garnacho will not play for Argentina in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers at the beginning of September.
If Red Devils and Chelsea are able to sign a contract via transfer fees, Garnacho will leave United before the transfer window closes. Bruce is pushing the young winger hard to take him to Stamford Bridge. Garnacho is already understood to have agreed with Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has been training for a month at Carrington, completely frozen from the team by Reuben Amorim, and with his comments and subsequent social media antics, United head coach’s final straw following the Europa League final. Garnacho fell to Amorim’s foul when he was dropped into the Manchester Derby last December, unlike Marcus Rashford, who was loaned to Aston Villa in January.

Naturally, Garnacho was not involved in United’s Premier League opening match against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Currently he has been removed from the Argentine team next month for World Cup qualifying equipment with Venezuela and Ecuador. Garnacho, who made her international debut as a teenager in 2023, was a consistent choice by boss Lionel Scaroni in 2024, but looked out in 2025.
During United’s pre-season US tour, Amorim was asked if it was a shame it didn’t work with Garnacho and himself. He said: “I can understand, you can see, he is talented, he is a truly talented boy. And sometimes I think things don’t go well.
“I can’t explain exactly what it is, but I feel that. I think it’s clear that Garnacho wants something else in another leadership, and I can understand that.
“So I don’t think that’s a problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy and you have a connection. You also want a new challenge. So we try to make everything okay with every part. For the club, coach and players.
The Argentine team includes five Premier League-based players: Emi Martinez (Aston Villa), Christian Romero (Tottenham), Giulio Soller (Bournemouth), Alexis Mac Alistair (Liverpool) and Claudio Echelleli (Manchester City).
