Sky Sports presenter David Jones has lifted Jamie Rednap after the Liverpool icon cleans up the outlook for Arsenal teenager Max Dowman. The 15-year-old midfielder earned the gunner’s first team debut at Emirates Stadium on Saturday night as Arsenal hit the visitors 5-0.
Arsenal has taken on a s-like shape in north London as they welcomed home fans to their first Premier League match of the season after a 1-0 win at Manchester United last Sunday. The hosts were dominated from start to finish, with Julian Timber heading to the team’s first goal from the 11-minute corner in the second half. Bukayo Saka, who was kicked out of injury in the second term, added a second goal just before the break, and Victor Gyoker fired on the first gunner goal early in the second term. Timber plunged his second home from another corner and closed the score from a penalty spot at the end of the match at the end of the match.
Douman, who won’t turn 16 until December 31st, was shocked by the matchday team. He was then introduced to the action with 26 minutes remaining as he replaced Noni Maduke, who signed the summer signature.
The teenager glowed on the ball as he broke into the Leeds penalty area at one stage. And he tried to take part in the action at every opportunity.
He later fired a shot in goal and then stumbled on the box before earning an Arsenal penalty.
Redknap and former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott praised Dowman after the match.
And at one stage, Jones was forced to intervene while Rednap praised the teenage star as the Sky Sports presenter cried out.
Jones was trying to ease the excitement around Dowman. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta explained that the club is responsible for “careing him” and “protecting him.”
“We’re going to see a lot of that face in the future. He’s a great footballer,” Rednap told Sky Sports.
The former midfielder went on to say: “The defender will have nightmares trying to deal with him, but this is exciting, I think we should embrace it, I don’t think we should hide from it.
“This is a unique young player with a great career. And he’s at the right club. If you’re that young guy now, I see what Bukayosaka does in training every day. He’s the perfect role model for him.”
