Wrexham has invested heavily this summer as he is trying to retain his championship spot.
Wrexham is reportedly locked up in a great deal for Manchester City defender Callum Doyle as the summer recruitment drive continues. The Welsh club spent cash this summer after promotion to the championship.
Wrexham has already spent around £20 million through the window, but has also destroyed the club’s record transfer in a £7.5 million deal on Nathan Broadhead in Ipswich. But they don’t seem to have finished completely there.
The athletic report shows the championship side being locked in a £8 million dip for Man City youth Callum Doyle. He is also interested in the Rangers and Sheffield United, but it appears Welksam won the race for his service.
Doyle, 21, is a product of the city’s academy who has been with the club throughout his youth career. However, he made two advanced appearances on the side.
He had more luck with lending. He helped Sunderland get promoted in 2022, then reached the final of the Championship playoffs the following season with Coventry.

The defender then joined Leicester, winning the championship, and spent last season on loan with Norwich City. Earlier this summer, he admitted that he was ready for a new meadow.
“I think (permanent movement) is my next goal,” Doyle told the Pink UN. “It’s now my fourth loan and I’m all over the country.
“There’s nothing bad about this club. I love it. I love playing here and on Carrow Road. The fans are amazing.

Meanwhile, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has revealed that he wants to welcome several more new faces to the ground at the racecourse ahead of the deadline next month. He said: “We’re looking at it all. We probably need a few more players. We’re looking at it.
“It’s ongoing. The moment we’re looking to prepare the game and improve our team, it’s obviously busy for all our managers and clubs. The young people we’ve brought with us at this point are really good.
Wrexham lost each of the opening two championship games. They were dramatically beaten by Southampton before falling to be defeated by Norwich City. They will continue their search for the first victory of this weekend’s campaign while holding Crisis Club Sheffield on Wednesday.
