Arsenal has been linked with many widemen this summer with Mikel Arteta, who is keen to bolster his offensive options, but Leandro Trossard has already been hit with a strange deal
Leandro Trossard has reached an agreement over a new contract with Arsenal, but it doesn’t keep him at the club.
The Belgian winger had only two years left on his current contract with the Emirates, which was linked to a move from north London amid reports of interest from Saudi Arabia. But now it seems likely that he will remain at Arsenal for the time being.
According to Athletic, Arsenal will agree to a new deal with Torosad and will see him secure a “substantial wage increases.” However, transactions will not be extended beyond the current expiration of 2027.
It has been suggested that the New Deal brings the former Brightonman’s salary in line with his precious role on the team. Torosad has scored 23 goals in 124 appearances in all Arsenal tournaments since the £27 million move in January 2023.
Last season, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta welcomed Torosad for his importance and mentality. He states: “Yeah, Leo is obviously a little moan, but I like it because he is very competitive and you have a training session.

“He’s always wanted to be the best and when he’s not there, he’s not happy. But that’s what pushes him. That’s where he gets on the pitch, he has that drive so he can make an impact. I love it about him.
“He’s a really good character. They all want to play. They want to play all the time. Leo has shown more consistency in the last 12 months, he deserves it. He has a lot of competition in his position. That’s it. He raises his level. If he plays like everyone else, he has the ability to do something special in the last third.
“He plays, he plays as a left winger with us, and as an offensive midfielder, he plays as a nine-man.

Meanwhile, Torosad was asked at the time about his new contract, highlighting his happiness with life in North London. He states:
“I still want to win things here, I think there is a great team, a great manager.
Torosard was left on the bench as Arsenal launched their 1-0 win over the weekend and a campaign at Manchester United.
