Alexander Isaac and Newcastle United issued their own statements on Tuesday evening.

It was at 11:40pm that Newcastle United released a response to Alexander Isaac’s statement on why he didn’t participate in the PFA Player of the Year Award. As has been the case throughout the summer, it’s more when you send a message than you say.
Both parties chose their words carefully, saying that both of them would clearly agree with the people in their corner. But you knew exactly what they were going to be. “I’ll find you, Baron Beer,” Isaac said. “No, I won’t,” said Newcastle essentially.
And that magpie message is consistent throughout the summer, primarily through trusted local journalists, well-known experts, and now the club itself. This is no longer just about record-breaking transfers in the UK. This is a lesson in how sports promotion works in 2025.
And that continues. Statements from both sides have actually achieved nothing. Isaac’s explanation of why he left the club is not being bought over the weekend by those who chant him as nothing more than a “greedy b****”, but Newcastle’s response clearly did not say he wasn’t for sale because he was still.

In the middle, this was all Liverpool and Liverpool would have been guaranteed that Isaac would be allowed to leave this summer – it’s debate for everyone.
Encouraged by this, the Reds entered the dance to win a brand new award. It’s certainly a difficult dance to do, but if completed successfully, it’s a dance where they come out with over 20 guaranteed Premier League goals and a second consecutive title.
The Liverpool summers are unusual and of course tragic, and in fact Diogo Jota’s immeasurable losses have become a major, unsaid component of their transfer business.
It remains awful to talk about Jota in this context, but suddenly, in the mind that already compensated for Darwin Nunes’ sales, you have to sign two centre forwards.
Liverpool doesn’t mind that, they just want players, and Isaac’s reputation will soon feel soothed under their guidance and when his character is not questioned from every corner.
Another record bid is sure to come in, explaining that both clubs are higher or lower than the others, and then it’s up to Newcastle to decide whether they’ve done enough to finish it.
All this happens only after the two clubs meet at St. James Park on Monday night. There was no chance that Newcastle would strengthen Liverpool with Isaac for its fixture, so Liverpool didn’t give Newcastle the money to sign one or two top alternatives.
The game added another element to the saga that doesn’t satisfy the Reds, and would have questioned his involvement in such a public slang match in the future.
Even if they become ISAK, Liverpool could draw the line under a transfer relationship with Newcastle. That’s something the club doesn’t want to do with others because they are mutually beneficial agreements.
It’s correct to try and get as much money as they want for their valuable assets, of course, but this has long been halting on accurate numbers. It is a perception of where the club is heading under Saudi ownership, and they want to consider equality in their absence of being surrounded by clubs.
Isaac, once worshipped by Tyneside, now a pariah, has become the lightning bolt of all this. The end is visible, but it’s not quiet.
