Chelsea star Wesley Fofana has removed all Chelsea-related content from his Instagram after Enzo Maresca asked for a new signature and claimed that the French could not do everything he needed
Wesley Fofana has deleted all of his Instagram Chelsea-related posts after revealing that Enzo Maresca can’t step into the defensive role of the Blues – urging the club to sign a new defender instead.
Fofana was signed back when Thomas Touchel took charge and joined the £75 million mammoth from Leicester. However, he has a hard time paying back the fee. This is mainly due to the horrific injuries that kept him out throughout the season.
The French were one of many defenders of Chelsea’s books, and only performed 14 times in the previous period. Levi Colwill’s injury, which excludes him for most of the campaign, opened up the team’s backline spot, but Fofana is set to be snapped with Maresca, who claims he has no qualities to fill.
The 24-year-old was a huge hit when he was in the Fox, but the blues boss believes he can’t do what he needs to do to help his team with their build-up plays – he said publicly.
In response, Fofana is wiping her hands at the club, at least from a social media perspective. His Instagram currently contains only images of him playing for France and Leicester.

Maresca suggests that Tosin Abarabioyo is the only player he can turn to to take on the burden from Colwill. “Tosin is the only one who can do the job well,” the Italian said.
He also said, “We’ve said many times that if we can build the right way, we can create opportunities and attack the right way. Levi is a big part of our buildup and now he’s out and we’re trying to find another solution.
“Unfortunately, like Wes and Benoit, they have some issues at this moment, and this is why I said the club knows exactly what I think about the central defender.”
Chelsea pulled out an opening Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Josh Achairbon and Trevo Charova were two men at the heart of the Blues’ defense with Fofana, as new to sign Yorel Hato.
