Morgan Rodgers was named PFA Young Player of the Year Tuesday night, with Arsenal considering the 23-year-old midfielder’s move after being injured
Arsenal was able to move for Morgan Rodgers later in the summer transfer window after Kai Herberts was injured. Gunners have already spent more than £200 million on new players this summer, but they are still pondering more additions.
Mikel Arteta’s team launched the campaign by beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday, but their plans have now been hit. Havertz replaced Viktor Gyoker from the bench for the final 30 minutes of that Premier League match, but now he’s backed down.
German International was not trained on Wednesday due to a knee injury. Arsenal still doesn’t have a full picture of the Herberts issue, but they already plan another dip in the transfer market after landing gyoker, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Mosquera, Christian Norgado and Kepa Arizabaraga.
The Sun has praised him for a while, so Arsenal reports that he is considering a bid for Aston Villa’s Star Rogers. The 23-year-old was named PFA Young Player of the Year at a ceremony held in Manchester on Tuesday night.

Rodgers has scored 14 goals and 16 assists in 54 games in all competitions at Villa last season, making him versatile enough to play a variety of positions. However, he remains on the villa contract for five years, and the club is in a strong position to resist any approach.
The villa cherished the English midfielder for £800,000 and didn’t have to sell it. Also, there is little time to find a replacement in front of the window on September 1st.
Arsenal was squeezing more additions, even before Herberts’ injuries, and Arteta was eager to strengthen it in the wider region. However, failing to sell unnecessary players like Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Karl Hein, and Oleksandr Zinchenko is hampering their efforts.
“Let’s see what happens in terms of where the team is in the coming weeks, but we’re actively looking at options,” Arteta said earlier this month. “Similarly, there are a few players who may have to leave, so we’ll be open to see what happens.”
The inability to sign until the player leaves is revealed by his inability to challenge Tottenham for Ebeki Eze. Gunner showed interest in Eze at the beginning of the summer, and although he was keen to travel from Crystal Palace, they were unable to stop the Spurs from moving forward in the race.
Eze, who will now fit the bill as a backup for the Humbers, is expected to join North London rivals for around £60 million. Arsenal also links with Real Madrid’s Rodrigo and Atalanta’s Ademalalookman, but there is no interest in that.
