Arsenal hijacked Tottenham’s move for Crystal Palace star Ebeki Eze, and Gunners fans immortalized him with a mural before the deal was completed
Eberechi Eze is on the verge of joining Arsenal, and England International has already been immortalized in a mural near the Emirates. Arsenal has, in principle, agreed to a contract to sign Eze as a result of hijacking Tottenham’s move for the midfielder after being injured by Kai Herberts.
And after news came out that Eze was set to snuggle the Spurs and join the gunner instead, a mural depicting him on an Arsenal shirt was painted by street artist North Bank Key. Manager Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Eze and their interest grew after Herberts suffered a knee injury.
German International returned to action only in May after recovering from serious hamstring problems, and Arsenal moved quickly to secure Eze. Tottenham has broken a deal worth the first £50 million and £100 million add-on.
However, Arsenal agrees to pay an additional £7.5 million add-on in addition to £10 million by supporting the gunners’ cause with the relationship between Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish and Arsenal vice-chair Tim Lewis.
Eze was Arsenal’s seventh new signature this summer, with Victor Gyoker, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Mosquera, Christian Norgado and Kepa Arizabaraga already moving to the Emirates.

Tottenham, meanwhile, has to turn his attention to other targets who missed both Eze and Morgan Gibbs White. The Spurs are eager to sign a new playmaker after James Madison suffered a serious ACL injury in the preseason.
Madison could miss the entire season, and Tottenham’s Gibbs White’s move fell after nottingham Forest of taking an illegal approach and the players ultimately decided to sign a new contract.
Prior to the Palace’s conference league clash with Norwegian club Fredrikstad, Oliver Grasner was quized in the future of Eze and club captain Mark Guech, with Liverpool interested in defenders.
“Many people were surprised that he and Mark opposed Chelsea,” Glasner said at a pre-game press conference on Wednesday. “You might be surprised they will start again tomorrow due to all the rumours, but they are committed here.
“As long as they’re here, they’re committed to the team, they’ll play an important role. If they leave, they want to leave as the person who gave Crystal Palace 100%.”
