“I also understand that every story has two sides, and I have never heard anything from him or his side, but it’s all leaks and reports. It’s a small chance, but if he says he’s sorry, there’s a chance that we could integrate it into the team.
“It’s unlikely that’s true, but if the transfer deadline has passed and there’s no deadlock yet and everyone is shaking, he’s still in Newcastle. He can’t see the road back then.”
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe gave an update on Isaac’s future after the match, saying, “Nothing has changed. The doors are fine and really open, but he has to decide what he wants to do.
“I want a solution. Ownership, all the players we have want that clarity. You don’t need to be distracted. I don’t control it. There’s only one person in control of it.”
