Chelsea discussed with AC Milan about his contract with Mike Maignan earlier this summer, and he was serenaded by Blues fans in a friendly match between the two clubs.
Mischievous Chelsea fans teased Mike Meignan with a cheeky chant in Sunday’s friendly 4-1 victory on the side of French goalkeeper AC Milan at Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old Maignan emerged as a surprise transfer target for the Blues earlier this summer, talking about a potential deal before Enzo Maresca and his team flew to the US to compete in the Club World Cup.
However, talks over the collapse of the deal have since been reported that Chelsea are satisfied with the Keeper’s options.
And Chelsea fans threw support behind Robert Sanchez when Maignan and AC Milan performed to chan them on Sunday: “You’re just like ***Robert Sanchez, the opposition goalkeeper.
Sanchez is expected to finish the 2024-25 campaign as Chelsea’s first-choice keeper and begin a new season as Maresca’s first issue.

Sanchez started between sticks in the afternoon, forgetting Maignan and the Italian giants, and Chelsea won their final warm-up match ahead of the new Premier League season 4-1.
Joao Pedro’s goal and blues braces, other new striker, Liam Delap, was added to Andrei Coubis’s eighth minute goal. Yousouff Fofana won Milan’s comfort in the second half.
Chelsea hopes to improve their fourth place finish last season after performing very well at the Club World Cup. And Maresca believes his team is in rude health ahead of the season’s opening match against Crystal Palace next Sunday.
“I think the performance was very, very, very, very, very good. There’s a red card,” the Italian said.
“The Red Cards changed the game a bit, but that’s normal as Milan started pre-season on July 4th, 40 days ago (the energy dropped a bit), which was their sixth friendly game.
“For us, it’s our second one. But overall, I’m so happy and now I’m starting the Premier League.”
