Crystal Palace faces a major UEFA decision to determine its fate on Monday, with Chairman Steve Parish acknowledging that England International Marcguech, who captained the FA Cup and Community Shield victories over the past three months, can be sold before the transfer deadline.

Mark Guech will be sold at this transfer window if the price is correct, confirmed Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish. And the co-owner of the Selhurst Park Club warned that spending by FA Cup winners is limited due to the “crazy” money they still owes to their previous signatures.

The 25-year-old England defender entered the final year of his contract, and the new Community Shield winner risked losing his club captain next year. The Palace declined three £700 million bids from Newcastle after a £30 million sale to Joachim Anderson was sold to Fulham last summer.

Carabao Cup winner and Premier League champion Liverpool are both still interested in Guehi. And his previous club, and the new FIFA Club World Cup winner – Chelsea need another defender after Levicor Will undergoes ACL surgery. Speaking in Wembley’s mixed zone after the penalty beat Liverpool, Parish was asked if Guehi would be sold this month if an accepted offer was made.

“Yes, yes,” said the palace boss. “Of course, that’s a problem for the football club to leave that caliber player free of charge. Unfortunately, there’s no doubt about that.

“Joachim went, but we couldn’t afford to lose both of them. Then we made another bid in January, and that was a difficult decision too. We have to see what happens. We need a new contract or some kind of conclusion.”

The Palace still wants Guehi £50 million, but FA Cup final hero Eberechi Eze is also a target for Arsenal. Parish added: “In the end, people trade players, that’s what the football club does, and of course, if you care about tomorrow and end it all, we’re a great team.

“Unfortunately, that’s not necessarily that simple. This year, we’re paying a lot of transfer fees to players who already have them, so this year there’s a lot of exits. When you see the fee, there’s just nuts.

“We have to look. We’ll do everything we can. We’re not going to quit our job. But as long as we’re here or we’re here, it depends. That’s the right decision for the football club, and there’s a change for them. But we have to make something smart.”

Manager Oliver Glasner expressed his dissatisfaction with his slow transfer efforts this summer, expressing two new signatures (including backup goalkeepers on free transfers) including backup goalkeepers that have been made so far.

“I admire Oliver very much,” Parrish added. “He just wants to win the trophy. He doesn’t want to do it. I think someone from the football club should do it. I have to worry about it, and the Premier League is crazy and people spend it.

“So I have to see everything else, but don’t think I want to do anything other than support them and do everything I can.

“At some point, you have to recycle your team. We will do everything we can in the coming weeks to give us the best chance we can. It’s really tough. We will do everything we can to give ourselves the best chance.

The Palace will learn their appeal verdict to the Swiss sports arbitration court on Monday after UEFA demoted them from the Europa League to the Conference League this season.

“It’s good to put it behind us, but we don’t want it to come across as a deadly thing of any kind,” Parrish added. “We are determined to get the right results, and if we don’t get the right results, we have to look at the steps that follow.

“But after Friday, I don’t understand how we can’t do that competition. It’s up to the judge to decide. We trust them. Let’s take a look.”
