After the gross of his first six months of smugness for Manchester United, there is little room for Reuben Amorim lattice this season. The Portuguese coach has to run, but is optimistic among the Red Devils loyalists as an investment worth £200 million has already been directed to the United team.
United doesn’t appear to be stopped there. He’s turning his attention to signing the midfielder after writing a deal worth £74 million for Benjamin Sesco. The 20-time champions also link to the goalkeeper’s signature. On the eve of the new Premier League season, Express Sport details what United’s Starting XI will look like after the deadline.
Goalkeeper: Donnarumma
Reports in France suggest that Gianluigi Donnarumma was said to be the goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain’s first choice next season after not reaching an agreement on a new contract. With only one year left on his current contract, Donnarumma is being tilted to leave PSG this summer. United is one of the aspects that is said to maintain the tabs and can later become a move inside the window.
Defense: Yoro, Maguire, de ligt
Youthful energy, experience, class touch: United’s future back three has everything (on paper at least). While Lenny Yolo appears to be getting older after his volatile first season in Red, Harry Maguire remains a reliable person behind him. Matthijs de Ligt should thrive on Amorim’s system as Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez are waiting in spares.
Idfield: Amad, Baleba, Fernandes, Dorgu
United fans would like to see Carlos Valleva join the club before the September 1 deadline, but Brighton is said to be looking for £104 million, which could cost quite a bit. The 21-year-old will be the perfect partner for Bruno Fernandez in the middle of the park, with Amado and Patrick Dorgu able to provide width from the wingback.
Attacks: Mbeumo, Sesko, Cunha
Amorim’s new look crown jewel. After finishing the season as the fifth-lowest scorer in the Premier League in the previous quarter, the former sports boss turned his eyes to a new forward signature, with United Board delivering three. Sesco is the latest to put pens on paper in Old Trafford costumes after Brian Mbeumo and Mash Kuña join early in the window. If these three cannot provide Amorim with a goal, that probably means his problem is greater than he thinks.
