Arsenal are keen to sign a winger before the summer transfer window closes, with Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior emerging as a shock target with his future at the Bernabéu uncertain.

Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior in a blockbuster move. The Gunners are considering a move for 26-year-old Vinicius, whose contract with Madrid expires next summer.

The Brazilian’s future is therefore uncertain and he is on Arsenal’s shortlist to sign a wide forward during the summer transfer window. Gunners manager Mikel Arteta recently missed out on signing Morgan Rodgers, who joined Chelsea in a record £117m deal.

According to a shocking report in The Athletic, Arsenal are keen to sign Vinicius if he does not sign a new contract with Real. Although their interest is at an early stage, the move has been approved at all levels within Arsenal.

Talks between Arsenal and Real are yet to take place, but the La Liga giants could look to sign Vinicius rather than risk letting him go on a free transfer in 2027. The report adds that the winger, who has been at the Bernabéu for eight years, will be paid a hefty loyalty bonus next season.

Vinicius just participated in the World Cup with Brazil, but was unable to help them advance to the last 16. Starting all five games, the 26-year-old scored four goals for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who lost to Norway.

Last season, Vinicius failed to win the trophy for the second consecutive season despite scoring 22 goals in all competitions. Jose Mourinho has taken over in the Spanish capital, but there are questions about how important Vinicius is to his plans.

Arsenal are hoping to sign a striker again this summer, with Julian Alvarez and Olly Waktins already confirmed. After winning the Premier League title, Gunners co-chairman Josh Kroenke said in May: “When you win something, the sun will rise the next day.
