Vinicius Junior has already indicated that he would prefer to remain at Real Madrid rather than join Arsenal this summer. The winger has reportedly emerged as a target for the new Premier League champions, who are looking to add a new left-sided attacker.
Real Madrid will be desperate to avoid this scenario, as Vinicius is widely considered to be one of the best players in the world.
The 26-year-old also seems keen to remain in the Spanish capital, admitting earlier this year that he wants to enjoy the rest of his career there.
“I’m in no hurry to renew my contract. My contract with the club runs until 2027, so between now and 2027 Madrid and I still have a lot to discuss,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“Madrid is calm, I am calm too. The president trusts me and I trust him. That’s everything. We just have to wait, live each day, each moment and enjoy being the best club in the world.”
“I never imagined leaving Real Madrid. I’m enjoying every moment I spend here, because this is my dream club. I always dreamed of playing here and staying for a long time.”
“Now I’m one of the captains of the team. Even at such a young age, that’s a very special thing that doesn’t happen very often in the history of football.”
“So I’m enjoying every moment. I want to stay here for the rest of my life, but I’m not in a hurry to renew my contract yet.”
Vinicius impressed during the World Cup, scoring four goals in five games before Brazil were eliminated in the last 16 by Norway.
Last season, he scored 22 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid, even though the club failed to win a trophy for the second year in a row.
