Liverpool have been eyeing a new winger all summer, with Monaco’s Magnes Aklios in the hunt and confident of beating Arsenal for Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool remain on the market for a new winger and have made an approach for Monaco star Magnes Akrios, but are “confident” of signing PSG superstar Bradley Barcola.

The Reds need a replacement for the iconic Egyptian this summer, with Mohamed Salah set to leave Anfield. Many players’ names have been mentioned, but so far no contracts have been reached.

According to Sky Sports, they have made an approach to Akuriosh. PSG are also keen on the 24-year-old and have had offers from Monaco rejected several times, with the latest one being for around £34m.

After a season in Ligue 1 in which he scored seven goals in 43 games, Acrios made one World Cup appearance for France. He has risen through the ranks in Monaco, and the principality does not hide the fact that he is available at a fair price.

Liverpool’s search for attacking reinforcements involves many moving parts. They have been keeping an eye on Barcola for much of the summer and Arsenal are also keen, so there is a good chance the winger could leave Paris. He is valued at around £100m, but the Reds are leading the race to sign him.

Bayern Munich are also eyeing him, but The Sun claim players from Anfield are at the front of the queue. Liverpool have already missed out on signing Yann Diomande, but he is expected to join PSG from RB Leipzig if the German side secure a replacement.

Diomand’s impending arrival at the Parc des Princes means the Champions League winners can afford to let Barcola go, who impressed for France at the World Cup and scored 13 goals last season (21 the year before).

Liverpool are entering a new era with the appointment of Andoni Iraola as manager, and have already signed Spanish winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna in a £34.5m deal. Centre-half Jeremy Jacquet joined from Rennes in January after agreeing a £55m move.

The Reds’ recruitment drive comes after the Anfield players spent more than £400m last summer, twice breaking British transfer records to sign Florian Wertz and Alexander Isak. Despite the addition of Milos Kerkes and Hugo Ekitike, they moved up from champions to fifth place and qualified for the Champions League by a narrow margin.
