Bayern Munich star Michael Olise is ready to press ahead with a move to Real Madrid as he prepares to tell the German giants he wants to leave this summer.
Real Madrid are ready to step up efforts to sign Michael Oliseh, who is reportedly keen to leave Bayern Munich for the Spanish giants.
The Frenchman has just joined his country’s efforts at the World Cup and all eyes will now turn to his next move. The winger has had the best season of his career to date, scoring 22 goals for Germany, and his contract at the Allianz Arena runs until 2029.
However, Real are circling and want to sign the 24-year-old, who turned heads during the World Cup. He was part of the French team that also included Real stars Aurelien Choameny and Kylian Mbappé, who were instrumental in the club’s sale.
L’Equipe claims that Olise has informally communicated his desire to join Real. Despite Liverpool also seeking a replacement for Mohamed Salah, he considers them the best club in the world and the next step in his career.
Bayern have no desire to sell him, but Real are aware of Olise’s desire to join. However, no appropriate approach has been taken until Olise meets with Bayern officials and formally announces his intention to leave.
Vinicius Junior may be the key to this move. The Brazilian was previously a key player at Los Blancos, but has only just returned as manager after clashing with manager Jose Mourinho last year. Vinicius’ contract expires in 2027 and he has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but if that happens Real will likely step up efforts to find a replacement.
During his campaign, club president Florentino Pérez claimed he wanted to break the club’s transfer record, which led to the signing of Julián Álvarez. Despite this being rejected by Atletico Madrid, who claimed they did not want to pursue Olise, things could change in the future.
“I have some news,” he previously told Spanish TV show Horizonte. “On Tuesday or so, we will be making offers to major clubs in the Champions League for a great player. It will be the largest transfer fee ever paid by Real Madrid.”
He added: “Olise is a great player, but he’s not Oliseh. He’s not (Jeremy) Doku. We’re going to make a good offer, at least around 150 meters. He needs to be a player who can move forward from midfield. And it’s not[Erling]Haaland. This player is not from the Premier League. And the first thing we have to do is talk to the club.”
