Manager Thomas Tuchel is under pressure following England’s quiet exit from the World Cup at the hands of Argentina, and was booed by some England fans before the bronze medal final against France.

England fans booed when Thomas Tuchel’s name was read out before kick-off.
England fans gathered at a stadium in Miami to make their point loud and clear ahead of kick-off for the third-place match against France. It was a huge backlash against Tuchel after England lost to Argentina in the semi-finals on Wednesday night.
The stadium announcer read out the names of both groups of players and everyone cheered, but the atmosphere changed when Tuchel was mentioned.
It was loud and very clear and would be a sharp wake-up call to not just the FA but also Tuchel about the public mood.
Tuchel was really worried after that disastrous defeat to Argentina, as England lost to their great rivals but also ruined their best chance to reach their first World Cup final in 60 years.
Asked whether he would want to stay even if the atmosphere changed, Tuchel gave a very succinct answer in his pre-match press conference.
Tuchel questioned whether the atmosphere was truly “divided” and insisted he wanted to proceed regardless.
However, the harsh reality is that fans think who is to blame for Argentina’s defeat and are placing the blame on the coach, not the players.
It’s a long road for any manager to get their players back, and that’s Tuchel’s toughest challenge.
If England defeats France and takes third place, there is a possibility that they will record the best result in the history of the World Cup on a foreign soil.
