Arsenal have agreed to sign one of Mikel Arteta’s top targets after Leandro Trossard’s departure was confirmed.
Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Club Brugge to sign winger Christos Tzoris for £34 million. The 24-year-old, who featured for Norwich City as a teenager, is expected to complete his permanent move to Emirates Stadium in the coming days.
Mikel Arteta has been keeping tabs on Tzoris for several months and he moved to the Greek national team after a move to Besiktas was completed with Leandro Trossard. The 31-year-old Belgian will head to Türkiye in an £18m deal, allowing the Gunners to sign Tzoris.
He has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions and is expected to sign a long-term deal. According to The Athletic, Arsenal will pay him a flat fee of £34 million for his services after reaching an agreement with his club, Club Brugge.
They report that the transfer is in the final stages, with Tzoris prioritizing joining North London after attracting interest from other clubs. The move to sign a left-winger is unlikely to affect Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta’s pursuit of Aston Villa’s England international Morgan Rodgers.
Arsenal initially targeted Juventus star Kenan Yildiz to solve their problems on the left. However, Serie A refused to investigate the 21-year-old Turkish winger and the Gunners moved on to other targets.
Tzoris was under contract until June 2029 and had an incredible season with the Belgian giants. He played 51 games in 2025/26, scoring an impressive 22 goals and providing 29 assists, including goals in the Champions League against Atalanta and Atlético Madrid.
Crystal Palace were keen to sign Tzoris after releasing Eberechi Eze to Arsenal last summer. However, they were forced to pay the price of a transfer, eventually acquiring Elemy Pino from Villarreal.
His first spell in England came in 2020, when he signed for Norwich from PAOK, but failed to impress in 30 appearances for the Canaries. He moved on loan to FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining the German team in January 2024.

Tzoris moved to Bruges just six months later, where he found his feet. He played 34 games for Greece and scored nine goals for the Euro 2004 winners.
Tzoris is Arteta’s third summer signing, following Piero Hincapie’s loan move to become a permanent move and the arrival of free agent Illan Meslier, who was released by Leeds United. After 22 years of waiting for domestic success, the Spaniard is expected to begin a further high-profile move this summer as he looks to successfully defend his title.
After Arsenal announced Trossard’s departure earlier this week, one key member of the title-winning side has already decided to leave. “We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas regarding the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard,” they said in a statement.
“As per the transfer fee agreement, 31-year-old Leo has been given permission to undergo a medical and travel to Istanbul to complete the transfer process to the Turkish Super Lig club. We will provide further updates once the transfer has been completed.”
Tzoris is now expected to complete his move subject to a medical and signing a contract. If all goes well, he could join his new team-mates in Arsenal’s pre-season friendlies against Girona on August 1.
