England will be hoping to take their World Cup dreams a step further when they face Norway in Miami on Saturday, and manager Thomas Tuchel could be given a boost by the return of several key players.
Reece James, Mark Guehi and Declan Rice all trained on the eve of England’s World Cup quarter-final match against Norway.
The Three Lions will face Erling Haaland & Co. in Miami on Saturday night for a place in the last four. But Thomas Tuchel has once again been forced to battle some fitness headaches, mainly in defence, as he prepares for the big game.
James has been absent since England’s draw with Ghana with a hamstring problem, while Jarrell Quansah is currently serving a two-match ban after being sent off playing at right-back in the thrilling Round of 16 win over Mexico.
However, the Chelsea defender appears to be back in the frame after training with the rest of the squad on Friday.
James was joined by Guehi and Rice, who missed Wednesday’s practice.
Guehi is thought to have picked up a hamstring strain after the game against Mexico, meaning Tuchel could make another change to his defense. Rice briefly filled the role of problem right-back, but has been suffering from illness.
Jordan Henderson was the only player absent from Friday’s session after undergoing surgery for a broken wrist.
