Brahim Dias was speaking to the media ahead of the 2026 World Cup quarter-final match against France, but the press conference was interrupted when two reporters started arguing.
Brahim Diaz’s pre-match press conference before Morocco’s match against France descended into chaos after two journalists got into a fist fight. The Real Madrid star was answering questions before the quarter-final match between the AFCON finalists and the 2018 World Cup champions when chaos broke out inside the press conference room.
Morocco, who reached the semi-finals of the last World Cup, showed great performance throughout the North American tournament. After a stalemate on the first day against Brazil, the Atlas Lions easily advanced to the Round of 32, pushing past teams from Scotland and Haiti.
In one of the more notable matches of the round, Morocco and the Netherlands were unable to separate until the shootout, keeping the North Africans motivated to advance. Morocco achieved an overwhelming victory over co-host Canada in the Round of 16 and advanced to the last eight, where they will face pre-tournament favorites France.

Diaz appeared before the media on Tuesday afternoon, but proceedings came to an abrupt halt midway through a question about the team’s mentality.
As a visibly surprised Diaz looked out into the crowd, one of the journalists could be heard shouting, “But why did you hit me? But why did you hit me? You can’t hit me.”
A staff member on stage, believed to be a press secretary, tried to restore order by shouting, “Hey, hey, gentlemen. Please, gentlemen.”
Still, the altercation continued, and the journalist continued to claim that he had been punched by the other reporters involved.
By this stage, a clearly startled Dias was finding it increasingly difficult to maintain his composure and the former Manchester City star could barely contain his grin.
And the press secretary said, “I’m sorry, Brahim, but please, thank you.”
The Real Madrid star added: “I forgot the question!”
