Liverpool head coach Arne Slot revealed there are many reasons why the Reds signed Jeremie Frimpong.

The Reds landed Jeremy Fripon from Bayer Leberkusen for £29 million after the departure of right-back Trent Alexander Arnold. Many believe that the Dutch utility man is to challenge Connor Bradley to the fullback role, but slots believe he is more versatile.

It will be useful when Egyptian Star Sarah heads to Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held from December 21st to January 18th, and he can miss up to six Premier League matches.

Slot states: “We definitely thought about it, we brought Jeremy Frimon with us because we think he can play as the right fullback.

“We thought about the fact that we missed MO, I think it’s the biggest of six games, but that’s quite a lot in the Premier League.

“We signed Jeremie Frimpong for multiple reasons, one of which was that if Mo wasn’t there, you could trade Mo. There are other options to trade Mo, but Jeremie is definitely one of them.”

Frimon will start tomorrow at Crystal Palace and right back, with Bradley not injured. Many of the other summer signatures are also expected to be involved.

Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez are all expected to be on Wembley’s team. But one of the people who do not join them is Alexander Isaac. He remains a Newcastle player despite the transfer request.

Slot remained silent in motion, suggesting that Liverpool is still active in the market. He said: “We think we have a lot of offensive power for our team when we think of Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitike, Mo Salah, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz who can play as right wing.

“We already feel that our current team has a lot of offensive options, but as always, as a club, we always see opportunities in the market, and that can also be in the midfield or the final line.”
