Could England replace Jordan Henderson in their World Cup squad?
what happened? During the celebrations after England’s win over Mexico, Jordan Henderson slipped while climbing over an advertising board and landed awkwardly on his arm. The England star required treatment on the pitch and was eventually carried off the pitch on a stretcher, but will he be OK? Not completely. It has been confirmed that Henderson was taken to a hospital in Mexico and will subsequently undergo surgery for a wrist problem, but will he ever play again? His World Cup is already over. The surgery will keep Henderson out for a while and he won’t play any more in the tournament with England, but did he play too much? Henderson appeared once in England’s five World Cup matches, coming off the bench in the final group game against Panama, but could England replace him? Unfortunately not. Injured substitutions can only be made before a team plays their first game of the tournament, as was the case when England replaced Tino Livramento on the eve of the match against Croatia, but what does Tuchel say? “Not good, not good. Next up is the right defender who got a red card. Jordan just fell down with a wrist injury. It looks really bad.” How many games left? England have up to three games left in the World Cup and will next face Norway in the quarter-finals. If they win, they will be guaranteed a place in the final or third place match.
