Tottenham could receive a major boost in their bid to sign Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Crupi this summer. The 20-year-old has emerged as a priority target for Spurs, who are undergoing a transformation under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
As reported by our sister title football.london, Crupi has firmly caught the attention of the north London club. However, competition for his signature is fierce, with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain also said to be keeping a close eye on the youngster.
However, recent activity in the transfer market may suggest a willingness to reconsider their position. BBC Sport reports that the south coast club have reached an agreement with Elche for striker Alvaro Rodríguez.
Bournemouth are set to pay an initial £21.4m for the striker, but that figure could rise to £25.7m. The forward was brought in to challenge Evanilsson and is strikingly similar to Crupi in style and position.
Rodriguez’s impending arrival could mean Bournemouth are more open to talks for Crupi, with an immediate replacement already secured at the Vitality Stadium. Therefore, a sufficiently lucrative offer could persuade the club to cash in on its valuable asset.
As well as Crupi, who is said to be Tottenham’s main target, Spurs are also thought to be interested in AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Manchester City’s Sabinho. In addition to Fernandes and Van Hecke, Spurs have also signed Martin Dubravka, Marco Senesi and Andy Robertson.
Tottenham’s quick turnaround will satisfy De Zerbi, who was looking for an immediate player at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He also wanted a quick trade so he could integrate new players during the preseason.
