English football legend David Beckham was in the Royal Box on the first day of Wimbledon with his mother Sandra, but the former England captain had a request for a celebrity.
Apparently even Sir David Beckham can get a little starstruck from time to time.
Because sometimes even British football royalty and the most famous man on the planet can’t resist being a fanboy. And for Bex, who sat in the Royal Box alongside her mother on the first day of Wimbledon, that meant taking a selfie with Dame Mary Berry.
Both were in attendance at SW19 on the opening day of the 2026 Championship to watch reigning champion Jannik Sinner’s opening match.
And Beckham, 51, looking as dapper as ever in a smart gray suit, was also seen requesting a photo with the TV chef, famous for his role as a beloved judge on The Great British Bake Off.
First, he stood up and posed for a photo with his mother, Sandra. He then requested a group photo with Berry and Deborah Jevans, chairman of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Beckham, who currently manages time in both Britain and the United States as part-owner of MLS club Inter Miami, is a regular at Wimbledon and sat in the front row of the Royal Box to watch Sinner begin his title defense against Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic.
Monday’s star-studded attendees included TV star and former host of BBC Pointless Alexander Armstrong, actors Mark Rylance and Katherine Jenkins, all seated in the back row.
And Beckham wasn’t the only one in attendance at SW19, his son Romeo was also spotted at the grounds with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull. It seems that the second son was not invited to the VIP seats.

Every year, celebrities from all walks of life gather in this prestigious box, but just because you’re famous doesn’t guarantee you a seat. Guests must be invited by former champion and president Jevans, who takes into account suggestions from the AELTC Management Committee, the Lawn Tennis Association, other tennis organizations and celebrities.
There are a number of rules that must be followed when invited to the Royal Box, including a strict dress code, which Lewis Hamilton famously violated in 2015 and was subsequently refused a seat in the box.
Beckham and the Center Court crowd cheered top-seeded Sinner as he made his exit. With Carlos Alcaraz out with a wrist injury, the Italian is the clear favorite to win this year.
