The same publication now claims that the 22-year-old will travel for medical care and complete his travel to Old Trafford in the coming days and weeks.
“Manchester United have, in principle, agreed to the signature of RB Leipzig and striker Benjamin Sesco,” the article read.
“There are trades in place for EUR 76.5 million (£66.4 million, $89.1 million) and EUR 8.5 million add-ons, and Sesko has been granted permission to travel for medical testing prior to the proposed move.
“The Athletic reported Wednesday that Manchester United had closed to the 22-year-old attacker’s move after offering a bonus of 75 million euros and 10 million euros.”
Sesko joined RB Leipzig at Red Bull Salzburg in 2023 and previously loaned two seasons at Austrian club Reserveside FC Liefering.
If the deal was made, Sesko had a record of 39 goals and eight assists in 87 appearances, including six goals in the UEFA Champions League.

His performance helped Leipzig achieve a seventh place finish in the Bundesliga last season.
Manchester United also struggled in the previous term, finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing to Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League final.
As a result, they won’t compete in Europe next season, but Sesco could be the latest name on an exciting list of summer signatures.
Reuben Amorim’s side has already bought Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Mash Kuña this summer.
They also added left-back Diego Leon to their ranks since the end of last season.
