Canadian star Ismael Cohn was carried off on a stretcher during the second half of the match against Qatar in devastating scenes during the World Cup clash

Harrowing scenes emerged as Canada’s star Ismael Cohn was carried off the field on a stretcher with an apparent broken leg during a match against Canada. The midfielder waved to the fans as he was led to the sideline.
As tensions between the two teams escalate, there are immediate concerns for Canada’s players. The player who committed the foul, Asim Madibo, looked devastated, while there was anger from Kone’s teammates who reacted violently towards the Qatari star.
The Canadian star struggled to grip his left leg as he went to the floor in the 55th minute and was surrounded on the field and by members of the coaching staff. Canadian representative Jesse Marsh was furious.
Qatar ace Madibo was left preoccupied and saw his yellow card eventually upgraded to a red for a challenge from Kone, who was given oxygen to manage the pain. Madibo, 24, was carried to pitchside but managed to get up and was consoled by manager Marsh.
“His legs are dangling,” Canada’s assistant manager told the fourth official before Madibo was shown red. “He’s got a broken leg. He’s got a broken leg, dude.”

Dion Dublin told BBC Radio 5 Live: “It’s a terrible situation. Mr Cohn was carried away on a stretcher.” “We haven’t seen the rematch and we don’t know if we want to see it. He was giving the thumbs up to the fans and said he was conscious and appreciated the support.”
Nathan Saliba took an exquisite free kick just minutes after entering the field in place of Kone. The home side were already leading 3-0 before Kone’s injury, and Saliba added to his tally with a fine goal before paying his respects to his fallen teammate.

Canada continued to take advantage of Qatar being down to nine men. Mohamed Manai extended their lead with an own goal in the 75th minute.
In the first half, Cair Larin scored the opening goal before Juventus striker Jonathan David scored and Homam Ahmed was sent off. David scored Canada’s sixth goal in stoppage time late in the game, completing his hat trick.
While there was jubilation at Canda’s victory Thursday night, Cohn will also be remembered.
One fan said, “It’s a terrible injury, but it wasn’t intentional. I hope he recovers quickly.” “We wish Isma the best of luck. Get well soon and come back stronger,” added another.
“Praying for Isma,” said a viewer. Another player said, “Kone should have scored the one goal. It’s a very emotional game right now.”
