Manchester United have reached an agreement with Atalanta for Ederson, with the Brazilian set to undergo a medical while on international duty at the World Cup.
Manchester United target Ederson is expected to undergo a medical during the World Cup and will inch closer to a transfer this weekend.
The Red Devils have already signed a deal for the Brazilian with Atalanta, who will pay him a fixed fee of £34.9m plus a further £3.8m in bonuses. Ederson has agreed to a four-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months.
A minor issue at the World Cup affected the transfer process, and Ederson was called up to the Brazil squad after suffering an injury setback.
However, Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport has reported that Ederson will undergo a medical check in New York this Sunday, and it appears that Ederson’s move to Manchester United is on the verge of being completed.

The addition of a midfielder is a priority this summer for the Red Devils, who have returned to the Champions League after an excellent 2026 under Michael Carrick. The club have just left Casemiro at the end of his contract and are preparing to make an offer for Manuel Ugarte.
They were prepared to spend a lot of money to acquire two new midfielders. Ederson will receive praise from players already playing in the Premier League. United have been linked with signings Sandro Tonali, Carlos Baleva and Adam Wharton. They also have an interest in Elliott Anderson, although his preference remains for him to move to neighboring Manchester City.
United are understood to be keen to sign a left-back, left-winger and possibly also a striker. When it comes to signing players currently in England camp, manager Thomas Tuchel has said he will not interfere with any transfer business as long as it does not disrupt the group.
“If it is done quietly, privately and efficiently, we are always happy to work together to clarify the surroundings of the players,” the German said. “I think the best thing we can have is clarity. If someone has a chance to change clubs and complete a transfer, we will not stand in their way.”
