Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada says the Reds are aiming to replicate last summer’s transfer business and have clear plans for the transfer window after securing a return to the Champions League.

He said, “I think the template of what we did last summer will be replicated in a lot of ways. People always hit windows and you don’t know how they’re going to come out of there, but you have to be well prepared.”

“We need to have a clear plan. We need to know exactly which positions we want to strengthen. We also need to be prepared for any contingencies. Unexpected exits may occur, and there may be opportunities in the market that were not present at the beginning of the window. So we must be prepared.”

“We have to be agile and flexible, but we have a clear plan. Jason Wilcox and his team are very well equipped to execute that plan. And I think what we saw last season is a good step forward for us. So we want a combination of experience and youth.”

We want a combination of players who have proven they can play in the Premier League, and in some cases players who have played well outside the Premier League. But we always do it within our terms and ensure that the decisions we make are long-term and not just short-term. ”
