Either way, it’s shaping up to be another busy summer of transfer activity for Richard Hughes and others. Aiming to rebuild Liverpool’s team. This could breathe new life into three Liverpool players who were previously thought to be destined for departure.

Curtis Jones’ Liverpool career appears to be coming to an end, with the midfielder linked with a move away from Anfield. Inter Milan have been identified as potential candidates to sign the 25-year-old, who has appeared in 49 games for the Reds this season. However, given the Spaniard’s preference for players who can play multiple positions, he could be the player given a second chance under Iraola. Jones has played well in his natural midfield position as well as at full-back, so it would be no surprise if Iraola were keen to retain the Englishman.

do you remember him? Unai Emery certainly didn’t know when choosing his Aston Villa team this season. Harvey Elliott, who entered the summer as one of the hottest prospects on the market, joined Villa on an initial loan deal with the aim of making the move permanent at the end of the season. In the end, the Englishman only made 11 appearances in all competitions and has since returned to Anfield with his tail between his legs. The talent certainly exists, that’s for sure, and although it fell out of favor under Slott, a change in manager could revive Liverpool’s career, which previously seemed dead in the water.

Wataru Endo was another of Liverpool’s forgotten players, making just 12 appearances all season. The Japanese midfielder, signed under Jurgen Klopp, has never been liked from the slot and has spent most of his time on the bench this season. Endo, 33, is unlikely to play a significant role under Iraola, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be a useful player on the team. Endo’s contract runs until the end of next season, and if Liverpool can’t find a buyer, there’s a good chance Iraola will keep him with the team.
